The Oakland Zoo is a place my family has visited many times throughout my childhood and is one of my favorite places to explore - and most importantly - take pictures. This zoo is the home to a plethora of different animals to see, including meerkats! The meerkat exhibit at the Oakland Zoo is a joy to shoot because there are so many meerkats on display. They are always very active, especially those who are the assigned lookouts. The enclosure was constructed in a way that allows visitors a 360 degree view of the habitat, providing photographers like myself many opportunities to capture images of the little creatures.

I love the pose! Usually you capture them at "full alert" so to speak but you managed to catch him looking up for the danger. The depth of field is good too. Nice, crisp clear image. Very good!
