Description
July 26, 2013 | Conservatory of Flowers | Golden Gate Park | San Francisco, California
Canon EOS Rebel T2i | EF-S18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS
There could not have been a better photo to have come out of a surprise visit at the butterfly exhibit in San Francisco Golden Gate Park's Conservatory of Flowers! It is not often you get the opportunity to photograph butterflies in motion among a room of flowers. And this butterfly in particular was a very cooperative and steady subject and allowed me to take a once-in-a-lifetime photograph that I will cherish for years to come. There is nothing more beautiful in a photograph than a monarch butterfly and a sunflower. This photo is one of the first series of pictures I took after receiving my Canon Rebel as a gift.
Note: Photoshop was used to add watermark/signature to image.

I love how the focus is on the butterfly and the flower with the background blurred and I like how the details of the butterfly are so in focus. The background however keeps catching my eye and not in a positive way but I can't really explain why. My eyes keeps getting drawn away from the subject of the photograph for some reason. I also wish some more of the leaves on the flower were more in focus. Other than those things I think it's a lovely photograph and a very good quality. Keep up the good work, look forward to seeing more.
